Yearly there is a new NBA season that everyone watches and even place bets on who will be the winning team for the day. But that’s not all; there are those who engage in online betting which includes their skills in managing an NBA team of their own. This game is called the NBA basketball fantasy game. In this game you will be given the chance to pick your own player and create your own team. But it is not that easy because just like the real NBA roster you will have to undergo player drafting to have a fair distribution among the best NBA players.
How can you start betting?
It is really simple – the first thing you have to do is to register an account in different websites that offer NBA fantasy games. To be able to avoid scam, try ESPN.com and YAHOO.com wherein both websites offer free NBA fantasy games. There are 2 types of NBA fantasy games, there is the one that they call “Just for Fun” and the other one is called “The Competitive League”. In the competitive league, this is where you can engage into online betting. The betting will depend on the administrators discretion on how much would be the first, second and third price.
Can you create your own league?
Yes you can. If you want your league to be a tournament or competition among your friends, you can create your own league. Creating your own league is for free and the only time you will pay something is when you will be placing a bet or an entrance fee in the league. Online betting is really difficult to engage into since there are a lot of scammers online. But when you are talking about NBA fantasy games, you can be the moderator of administrator of your own league. So what does this mean? There is no way that any NBA fantasy league to scam you because you have 100% control of each transaction and other trading stuff.
How can you win?
Most of the NBA fantasy leagues have 3 winners which would be the first place (overall champion), second place and third place. The amount of the prize money in online betting will depend on the entrance fee that the administrator allotted. The higher the entrance fee the higher the prize money will be. There will be also different settings on how to win each game. So be sure to read the information about the league before joining a league. Just like the real NBA games, you will enter a regular season and when you reach the top 4 or top 8 spot you are eligible of entering the playoffs. The overall winner in the playoffs will be named as the winner and champion just like in the real NBA game.
This is one of the most exciting online betting games that you can play. It may take a whole season before the champion will be decided upon several teams but it is worth it. This type of online betting doesn’t only deal with luck but also strategy. It is integrated with luck because you don’t know when a player will be injured. It is integrated with strategy because you should know when to play or not to play a certain individual or player. You can even trade NBA players with other NBA fantasy players which is also a part of your strategy.

History has it ways of revealing the truth, especially when it comes to drafting great basketball players. Although, fans will ultimately decide to attend the games based on talent level and character of the players. The Portland Trail Blazers in recent years have had to make some dramatic and unfavorable decisions. Now I won’t talk about the “Micheal Jordan” and “Sam Bowie” mistake. After all, the dust has settled and Micheal Jordan is arguable the greatest basketball player of all time. This leads me to the decision concerning drafting Greg Oden over Kevin Durant. So, lets break down and decide who will be the winner. Will it be the Portland Trail Blazers or the Oklahoma City Thunder.
First, Kevin Durant will be playing in his first All-Star game on Feb, 14, 2010. Durant was chosen by the Western Conference coaches, so the coaches must respect his game. Kevin Durant is avg 29.3 ppg, 7.30 rebounds, 3.0 assist per game, and Kevin is not letting up. The Oklahoma City Thunder have won more games this year than last year. For this reason, Kevin Durant is a much better offensive player than Greg Oden. In comparison, Greg Oden is averaging 11.1 ppg, 9 rebounds, and.09 apg. Even thou Greg is out for the reminder of the season with another knee injury. Injuries has cost Greg Oden a lot of games, and we don’t really know his full offensive abilities. Although, Greg Oden has a larger frame, he should be able to post anyone down low. Greg will have the advantage when it comes to posting smaller players.
Next, Greg Oden has the ability to change the way teams play offense. Oden blocking potential and ability to run the floor is outstanding. He has great defensive attributes in the painted area. Greg Oden is a legit 7 footer with a long wing span. Oden has the ability to score, rebound, block shots, and intimidate opponents. He remind me a lot of a young Bill Russell, but much stronger. At this point, we will have to wait and find out if Greg Oden is truly over the Microfracture and ailing knees. In opposition, Kevin Durant is not a defensive player. He is more of a slasher and jump shooter. He don’t really mix it up down low. I think Kevin would do himself some good if he went into the weight room, and started bulking up. If Durant committed to strength workouts, he would be scary. Both of these guys are still young and improving. I would give the edge to Greg Oden concerning defense Power.
Both players are similar when it comes to winning. Both Greg and Kevin was voted first team High – School All Americans in March of 2007. At Ohio State Greg Oden was described by many professional agents “As a once in a life time type player”. Mainly because of Greg’s blocking potential and his ability to post double stats. On the contrary, Kevin Durant had a outstanding year at Texas. At 6’9, Kevin is capable of playing shooting guard, point guard, and small forward. Kevin Durant is built to be a All – Star for years to come.
Last but not least, Hopefully both players will have outstanding NBA careers. I think the jury is still out on the decision by the Portland Trail Blazers. I know a lot of my friends mention the ghost of “Micheal Jordan” and how many championships we should have won. The Blazers don’t have to re-live the past, but they must know now that the window of opportunity is knocking loud, and we have probably the best center we’ve had since Bill Walton. In spite of injuries, Greg Oden will give us a chance to win a championship some day.

Bill Walton NBA Biography, Interesting Facts, and Career Highlights
Bill Walton was a 6 ’11″ center with the hands of a surgeon, with the brains of a head coach, and the mentality of a point guard. For one spectacular season in the 1970′s Bill Walton’s star burned as brightly as anyone in the history of the NBA. He did everything a center could possibly do. He scored, shut down the lane, rebounded, and passed the ball with point guard type precision. At that time, Walton was hailed as the brightest big man in the game.
Bill Walton somehow managed to play for 14 years in the NBA, despite being riddled with injuries throughout his career. Even with all of his injuries that he sustained throughout his career, Walton was elected to the NBA Hall of Fame in 1993.
In order to truly appreciate the kind of talent that Bill Walton was, you would have to go back to the 1970′s. He was the first “hippie” to be a success in professional sports. After graduating from UCLA, Walton let his wild red hair grow into a ponytail and he listened to bands like the Grateful Dead. He dressed like a mountain man and gave up eating red meat. His diet ranged from rutabaga omelets to raw cucumbers. He even once called the FBI, “the enemy”. Afterward he was brought in for questioning after making those political statements.
When Bill Walton wasn’t playing basketball, he lived a unique and care free life. He would go out cruising around the country in his jeep, went white water rafting, and was an active participant in various political causes. However, when he was on the basketball court, Walton was all business. He brought an attitude of teamwork to the game and had a knack of turning his teammates around him into winners.
When he played with the Portland Trail Blazers, he took a team with seven new faces and with an average age of 23 to the 1977 NBA Finals. Facing the Philadelphia 76ers, Walton rallied his team from an 0-2 deficit to sweep the last 4 games and win the NBA Championship in a dazzling display of team oriented basketball. In the final game of the Championship series Walton scored 20 points, grabbed 23 rebounds, blocked 8 shots, and picked up 7 assists to win a breathtaking 109-107 game to capture the NBA title.
When the final buzzer sounded, Bill Walton ripped off his jersey and threw it into the crowd. After the game in the locker room, with the Championship champagne flowing, Walton just had one question: “Where is my juiced?”
